ANIMARKT STOP MOTION FORUM 2018

ANIMARKT STOP MOTION FORUM  is the first in CEE event of a kind, focusing on puppet animation.

PARTNERS: ASAF (Czech Republic), Mozinet (Hungary), Fest Anca (Slovakia), CeTA (Poland)

Upcoming event will include pitching session, discussions, presentations, workshops and individual face-to-face meetings. Producers, distributors, representatives of TV broadcasters, animators and other professionals will share their experience and practical knowledge on working in animation industry.

Improve your skills

Experienced professionals and practicians will take part in ANIMARKT to share their know-how. ANIMARKT MASTERS workshops are aimed at students and artists beginning their professional career in the animation industry.

There will be three workshops during ANIMARKT 2018:
Directing stop motion animation workshop with the Beast Animation studio
Character development and storytelling workshop with Carlos Bleycher
Character animation workshop with Tim Allen

Workshops are free, but the number of participants is limited. In order to enter for the workshop, one should fill in the application form. The links are published HERE.

Pitching submissions closed

This year ANIMARKT Pitching will take place for the second time. Thank you for all the submissions. The list of 15 projects selected for the competition is published HERE.

In 2018 edition of ANIMARKT there will be:

  • pitching training with tutors experienced in animation production
  • pitching competition – a chance to be awarded with a contribution in-kind in the amount of: 60 000 PLN and 40 000 PLN sponsored by CeTA (The Audiovisual Technology Center), accreditation for MIFA 2019 (sponsored by CITIA), sound post-production at PLAYADE SOUND STUDIO sponsored by Piotr Kubiak (5 days at studio + sound engineer), Ale kino+ Special Award (TV channel Ale kino+ will buy a licence rights for pitched projects when they are ready), special offer from DitoGear (50% discount for buying the equipment if short is produced outside Poland – without the costs of shipment; free hiring of the equipment if the short is produced in Poland or 50% discount for buying the equipment), one licence for Dragonframe 4 + Keypad, one year subscription of FestivalWhizz for one film.

ANIMARKT PITCHING - Training script session with Wim Vanacker

The script session will be organized in a form of individual meetings focused on a given participant’s projects . Tutor: Wim Vanacker

The three-day workshop with Tim Allen will be at least 21 hours of hard work supervised by the stop motion animation master, who will select an individual series of exercises on puppet animation for every participant according to his/her skills and needs.

ABOUT THE TUTOR: Tim is a stop motion animator with over eighteen years of experience. He has worked on the sets of such film as “Corpse Bride” by Tim Burton, “Fantastic Mr. Fox” by Wes Anderson, “Peter and the Wolf” by Susie Templeton (which won the Academy Award in 2008), and the latest Wes Anderson feature “The Isle of Dogs”.

The participants of the workshop conducted by Carlos Bleycher are going to see with theoretical and practical examples how they can develop characters that fit organically into their stories and give the key points to structure their episodes, from the springboard to the actual script.

ABOUT THE TUTOR: Carlos is a scriptwriter, content consultant and story editor specialized in animation and childrens’ oriented content.

In this directing-for-stop-motion-animation workshop, the Beast Animation guys will take the participants on an exciting journey through all aspects of the directing process. Ben Tesseur and Steven De Beul will give an insight into how they work and on the basis of an assignment the participants will learn what they should pay attention to in every part of a ‚realistic’ production process.

The Audiovisual Technology Center (CeTA) is an innovative cultural facility working in the field of new visual technologies, primarily for use in cinematography.

CeTA Film Studio offers outside filmmakers and producers access to cutting-edge electronic image technologies and carries out research aimed at the further development of those technologies for filmmaking. Studio welcomes proposals for collaborations related to the development of new media.

Blood, sweat, scissors and glue. And lots of paper. That’s part of the story of Paper Port, a hybrid papercraft stop-motion/2D TV series from Chile. Already in its 2nd season, we’ll go through the whole process of the show, from concept-story development to its production*.
*Very complex, almost impossible, has to be seen to be believed.

Angela Poschet masterclass will be a look behind the scene of Isle of Dogs from the Production Supervisor Point of view. Angela will talk about her work, involvement and responsibility: planning and monitoring the shooting timeline and the set and puppet fabrication progress during the whole production.
